TutorialsTwo tutorials will be held on the conference, both by Peter Becker, author of the FCA tool ToscanaJ, and Bastian Wormuth, one of Professor Wille's students who has created many FCA systems with Toscana and ToscanaJ. Tutorial: Introduction to Formal Concept Analysis (1/2 day)This tutorial is aimed at an audience new to Formal Concept Analysis. FCA has a long tradition of being applied to different data sets and the tutorial will give an overview how the different techniques developed can be applied. The workshop will take a practioner's point of view and we invite participants to bring their own example data. Tutorial: Conceptual Information Systems using ToscanaJ (1/2 day)This tutorial assumes a basic understanding of Formal Concept Analysis such as gained from the tutorial above or from other sources. The aim of this tutorial is to teach how to create a Conceptual Information System on top of a relational database using the Open Source tools ToscanaJ and Elba (see the website for more information and downloads). WorkshopsAt the moment we plan for one workshop during (or most likely after) the conference. Workshop: A Conceptual Model and Interchange Formats for FCA ApplicationsThis workshops aims in defining a common understanding of how FCA can be implemented in programs. This understanding should be expressed in form of interchange formats for the central aspects of the data model, such as contexts, lattices, diagrams and others. |
